Moraine Lake Alberta

A 19 minute (14.5 Km) drive from Lake Louise you will find Moraine Lake which is half the size of Lake Louise but is surrounded by spectacular mountain peaks, situated in the beautiful Valley Of The Ten Peaks in Banff National Park, Note, the road is often closed from October to mid May as sits at a high elevation of 1883 meters. It can remain frozen until late  May or into June depending on the temperatures.  The only accommodation is the Moraine Lodge.

Emerald Lake is a 36 min (38.8 km) drive from Lake Louise via Trans-Canada Hwy/BC-1 W. Emerald Lake Lodge, a high-end lodge situated on the edge of the lake, there is a 5.2 km (3.2 mi) hiking trail around the lake, the first half of which is accessible to wheelchairs. The vivid turquoise color of the water, caused by powdered limestone, is most spectacular in July as the snow melts from the surrounding mountains.

Kicking Horse Falls in the Kicking Horse River is in the Canadian Rockies of southeastern British Columbia, Canada. The river was named in 1858, when James Hector, a member of the Palliser Expedition, reported being kicked by his packhorse while exploring the river, Hector named the river and pass as a result of the incident.

Bow Lake & Crowfoot Mountain

Bow lake – Bow Lake is the closest lake to the headwaters of Bow River, it is approximately 30 minutes north of Lake Louise, off the Icefields Parkway (Hwy 93) in the Canadian Rockies and a half mile north of the Crowfoot Glacier. At an elevation of 1,920 m (6,300 ft), it is one of the largest lakes in Banff National Park.

Peyto Lake

Peyto Lake – The lake itself is easily accessible from the Icefields Parkway. It was named for Bill Peyto, an early trail guide and trapper in the Banff area. Early accessible from the Icefields Parkway and just a 5 minute drive from Bow Lake. During the summer, significant amounts of glacial rock flour flow into the lake from a nearby glacier, and these suspended rock particles are what give the lake a unique bright, turquoise colour. Because of its bright colour, and the area around the lake is a popular sightseeing spot for tourists. The lake is best seen from Bow Summit, the highest point on the Icefields Parkway.
