This morning, Saturday 31st October 2015, I woke very early thinking about my new venture, I plan to launch a webpage site with blogs and photo galleries recording my travels and forth coming adventures. My feelings at this time is not to be too wordy, too petty or boring…….
Since traveling the last few years many friends have suggested I write a Blog so that they could follow my journey (how do I do that!!!). I was told I should share my photographs for all to see and purchase should they desire.
Tuesday next 3rd November 2015, my new adventure begins with a seven am flight to London Gatwick, coach to London Heathrow in time to board my afternoon Air Canada flight to Vancouver followed by a short flight to Nanaimo, in Vancouver island arriving around seven in the evening. My my dear friend Ann will be meeting me at he airport, I’ll be staying with for a few days before taking a short BC ferry journey back to the peaceful, tranquility of the beautiful Island of Gabriola. Here I will spend my second winter in this photographers paradise with incredible sculptured rock formations, Cedar forest, magnificent Canadian pines, sheltered bays and a wide variety of wild life, including, Bald Eagles, Herons, Sea Lions, Seals, Cormorants, Vultures, to name but a few.
I’m looking forward to re connecting with all the wonderful friends and acquaintances I made on my last visit, not forgetting my addiction to “Mad Rona’s” for my morning coffee and wonderful soups.
The island also boasts home to many talented world class artists, sculptors, musicians, singer song writers, photographers, poets, actors, Jewelers, etc, etc….. All, from what I have experienced have the support of the islands community.
My thought was to begin my Blog once I get settled into the cosy log studio which will be my home for the coming months, the start of yet another new adventure in my life………….
It was then when I sat up in bed, in my home island of Guernsey, Channel Isles, UK. Looking out of my window was this beautiful, amazing sunrise …….
New Dawn, a New Day and the beginning of a New Adventure.
What better time to write my very first Blog!
